Dear Colchagoffs'

We made up our mind at old age to make a pilgrimage and here we are upon the camels backs in a desert and we don't even have any lodging to rest a head in; anyway we get by as you can see. Possibly in a day or two we could be on the move again and we probably would not have the chance to greet you in time with Christmas and New Year drawing nearer and that is why we send you our greetings before the holidays and we wish you from the bottom of our hearts to spend the holidays and the 1969 to come in abundance and plenty, joy and luck.

Yours Georgi and Sofia Stoichev
Our pilgrimage - if it was not quite a lie, then a truth it was not.
